If the Department of Homeland Security in the US raises the "Threat Conditions" (aka: "Terror Alert") to anything higher than "Blue" (Guarded), we have seen a slow down in mail delivery from and to US destinations.
A "Yellow" (Elevated) level might slow down delivery one day,
"Orange" (High) will slow it down 1-2 days.
We currently have no data on the delivery times at "Red" (Severe) level - and we are not very eager to find out.
