San Jose police with tattoos may be ordered to find cover
The San Jose Police Department recently adopted a policy that prohibits cops from displaying tattoos while on duty. So officers with tattoos will either have to wear long-sleeved shirts year-round to cover them up or have them removed.

A 30-year-old would- be police recruit, filed an application to the First Hall of Civil Court in its Constitutional Jurisdiction against the Police Commissioner saying that his application to enter the police corps was rejected because he had tattoos on his arms.

There are 215 licensed tattoo artists in the state, but just 4 health department employees regulate the trade.
